Buffers AB was formed in 1954 and did at
that time have our own industrial buffer construction which
was manufactured by Bröderna-Hedlund Sweden.
1959 Buffers AB received the agency for
Oleo International Ltd in England. We have since then together
developped both industrial and railway buffers, container
cushioning frames for railway waggons, endstops and buffercasings.
1986 Buffers AB increased the company with
another agency – William Cook George Blair, England
-. Among their products can be found containerhooks for trailer
and railway waggons, different types of twistlocks and also
container corners, cast, stainless steel or aluminium. They
also manufacture equipment for military vehicles.
1990 Buffers AB formed a daughter company
in USA – Buffers USA Inc. – which has it´s
own production and own designed twistlocks and lashingequipment
for the trailer and railway industries.
1991 the product range was increased with
the agencies for Ringfeder GmbH friction springs, Karl-Georg
GmbH buffercasings. These companies have during many years
delivered their railway products to SJ. From August 1996 we are also representing
Powell Duffryn Rail Projects, railway boggies and axles.
1995 Buffers AB formed a totally new division
– Buffers Marin – which received the agencies
for Boomeranger Boats rescue boats, and Carinthia/GoldEck
sleeping bags.
Buffers Marin produces it´s own products such as: Ballistic
Floation Lifjackets/vests, Ballistic protection material,
survival and diving suits,bags and travelpacks under our own
Brand, NORTHGEAR™.
1998 the product range was increased with
Ullfrotté Original from Triconor AB in Sweden.
2004 the Buffers Marin department was made
a separate subsidiary, Buffers Marine AB.
Buffers AB has it´s own workshop in
Vallentuna, 25 km north of Stockholm, where we keep most of
our products in stock and also rework and assemble hydraulic
buffers.
